Blocks, Swivels & Shackles:
Snatch Block & D Shackle
If you’re looking for a snatch block, heavy duty swivel or D shackle, then you’re in the right place. A D shackle allows you to maximise your lift, all while maintaining a safe work environment. Selecting the best tool for your job allows you to increase or decrease your lift ability safely. Depending on product materials and technical specifications, the work load limit (WLL) will vary. Always check to ensure you are meeting the required state standards.
Great for short distance moves, a snatch block will allow you to easily change the cable with access from the cheek plate. Using a snatch block will also allow you to change direction on a winch cable, no matter the anchor point. When used with a winch, a snatch block allows you to increase the winch pulling power through mechanical advantage, and/or change the direction without damaging your cable.
Heavy Duty Swivel
A heavy duty swivel allows you to lift your loads with increased flexibility. Use the swivel to create a variety of load attachment points (LAP). The swivel moves as you need it, minimising frustration and adjusting without loss of rated capacity.
Accidents tend to occur when a heavy duty swivel is overloaded, so always ensure that you are meeting state standards and load guidelines. A quick tip is to ensure that the opening of the swivel has not increased from the original size, as the increase weakens the equipment’s capacity.
Working alongside the snatch block, a D shackle (or towing shackles) create a connection between the lifting device and the load to be lifted in a straight-line pull. These shackles are often used for towing and are easily connected to your trailer’s A-frame.
The pin of the D shackle allows for easy connection to a variety of equipment. The pin can be removed to slip straps, or looped rope through the shackle or, with the pin in place, attach hooks.
